Critzer, Goldie S.
Apr 9, 2018Vernon Road, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, in Augusta Health in Fishersville. Mrs. Critzer was born on August 8, 1924, in Sugar Grove, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Mervin and Salley (Moyer) Simmons. Goldie was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren and she retired from Western State Hospital in 1995, where she was employed as a receptionist and later RPN for many years. She enjoyed shopping and watching the show "Wheel-of-Fortune" on television. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Critzer was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Eddie D. Blackwell; two brothers, Raymond Simmons and Ervin Simmons; a sister, Sylvia Bryant; and a special friend, Neige Diehl. Surviving is a daughter, Randa L. Blackwell of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Randy Blackwell of Millboro and Tonya Chapman and her husband, Brian of Middlebrook; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Sandridge and her husband, Cory; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends anytime at the home of Mrs. Critzer's daughter, Randa L. Blackwell, 1048 Lyndhurst Road, Waynesboro. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2018, in Riverview Cemetery in Waynesboro by Pastor Dot Mellott. It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060. The family wishes to express a very special and heartfelt "Thank You" to the Augusta Health Hospital, their staff, and especially Dr. Jack Breaux, III, for the love and care given to Mrs. Critzer.
